Obituary for Kedrin "Ked" Hollars

Kedrin Dwayne "Ked" Hollars passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday April 26. He was born on April 29, 1951, son of Sollie Hollers and Velma (Hawkins) Hamm. In December 1970, he married his wife Connie (Sowders) Hollars.
Ked enjoyed many sports throughout his life, but his main sport was racing the #18 super stockcar every weekend. He enjoyed building many winning motors at Hollars Racing and he enjoyed helping out many younger drivers. He loved and enjoyed many family get-togethers, sitting around talking with friends.
Ked is survived by his wife of 52 years Connie Hollars; his sons Steve Hollars (Marsha) and Ked Hollars Jr. (Kelly); his daughters Melissa Hollars and Amber Grogan (Cheyenne); his grandchildren Taylor, Abby, Dylan, Aly, Gracie, Zaira, Sheldon, Cory, Jarren, Jayden and Kylie; his mother Velma Hamm; his aunt Nola Darlene Lovings (Roger); and his brother Keith Hamm. Ked was preceded in death by his father Sollie Hollers; his grandson Levi Hollars; his granddaughter Braylee Short; his grandparents Olin and Dorothy Hawkins; his uncles Berlin, Noble and Bert Hawkins; his aunt Rowena Cowden; his cousin Ronnie Cowden; his brothers Johnny and Gerald Hollers and Gerald Lee Hamm; and his step-dad Harold Hamm.
Visitation will be held at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. An additional visitation will be held at The Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M., followed immediately with a funeral service at 2 P.M. with Mickey Smith officiating. Burial will take place in Chapel Hill Cemetery.
