Obituary for Leon Paul Hankins
Leon Paul Hankins, 73, of Springville passed away on Sunday April 30, 2023 at IU Health Bloomington. Leon was born May 12, 1949 in Bloomington and was the son of the late Paul L. and Mary Leatta (Lane) Hankins.
Leon graduated from Bloomington High School with the Class of 1967 and graduated from Vincennes and Murray State Universities. Leon worked as a teacher and trainer working for the Maremount Company selling their products and training the employees on how to use them. Leon loved working on MG’s and Triumphs and also owned several. He was a member of Church on the Hill in Harrodsburg and was very involved teaching adult Sunday School classes and also led a bible study at Hearthstone Health Campus.
Leon is survived by his wife Lili Pan; sisters, Linda L. Rasner (Don) and Karen Langley (Tom); and brother Richard G. Hankins (Karen).
Leon was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, AnnaLee Hankins; and sister Paula S. Hinkle.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Leon’s life will be held at 12 PM Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Church on the Hill, 9181 S. Gore Road, Bloomington, IN 47403. Pastor Mike Winters will officiate the service.
Leon’s family will receive friends from 10 AM until service time on Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Leon’s memory may be given to Church on the Hill.
