I have very fond memories of Marge Penrod from the neighborhood at the end of East First St. I'm so glad I was able to reminisce with her at visitation for my parents a few years ago. What a delight to discover her great sense of humor. Marge joked about lawn mowing in her jewelry and shirt-waist dresses. She came to my rescue in grade school and always seemed to have her eye on the neighborhood.
I hope the family will accept my sincere condolences.

Our Nanny (she thought it was classier than grandmother, & it fit her perfectly), was the Angel of our family. She taught us from a young age the value of sending well written Thank-You Notes, Having plenty of peppermints & lemon drops, and getting through tough times by looking forward to “a good cup of coffee the next morning “ when I asked her advice when going through my own heartache. Nanny never, ever, complained. She found good in everything, everyone, every crazy plot twist that life sent her....her thoughtful & wise insights are my inspiration, I can only ASPIRE to be as kind as you. I am ALWAYS going to remember that You are definitely enjoying mowing and landscaping a beautiful garden now, & Papaw can sweep you off of your feet again.
Thank you Opportunity House-Nanny spent many years with her jewelry & clock repair knowledge volunteering....thanks for being her Wednesday Tribe💜
Hard to let go, overjoyed that you weren’t afraid.
