Obituary for Robert L. Quakenbush (Bob)

Robert L. (Bob) Quakenbush, 78, of Bloomington, died on Wednesday January 18, 2012 at Golden Living Center. Bob was born on May 16, 1933 in Martinsville and was the son of Helen (Funk) Quakenbush and Minor Quakenbush. Bob was a mechanic having the Mobil Station at 1st and Walnut. He drove for local dealerships bringing cars from the auction. He was courtesy driver for Royal Nissan on the Eastside. He retired from Bloomington Hospital in 1995. After retirement he drove for NAPA delivering parts until 2009. Bob loved his grandkids making homemade pizza and potato soup for them and the cute stories from the great grandkids. Bob is survived by his wife Betsy, 3 daughters, twins Anita Herbertz (Mark) of Indianapolis and Annette Lawson (David) of North Vernon and Tricia Quakenbush (Charles) of Port Wentworth, Georgia, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Bob is survived by 5 sisters Francis Pasch of Indianapolis, Mary Dunn of Martinsville, Sherry Silcox (Paul) of Paragon, Anna Pence (Woody) of Martinsville, Linda McArtor (Jerry) of Ellettsville and his brother-in-law Bill Walls of Martinsville. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson and his sister Jean Walls. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
